Bricks in the Breeze Update: December 2024

It’s been an exciting few months for Bricks in the Breeze as we continue to grow and bring our vision to life here at the Pier in Cairns!

Our LEGO playclasses have become a hit with locals and tourists alike, offering a fun and creative space for people of all ages and abilities to connect. We’ve had families, friends, and even solo adventurers join us to build, learn, and unwind.

Beyond LEGO, we’ve been busy developing new activities that align with our mission of fostering an inclusive, community-driven space. We’ve introduced kite flying sessions on the Esplanade, encouraging people to get outdoors and enjoy the breeze (pun intended!). And with our emphasis on accessibility, we’re working on hosting fully inclusive outdoor activities that everyone can enjoy.

On the tech side, we’ve been experimenting with web3 gaming integrations and educating young people about blockchain and other emerging technologies. These sessions have sparked interest and conversation, empowering our community to engage with the future in a fun and approachable way.

As the year winds down, we’re also putting more effort into revitalizing the Pier. The decline in foot traffic has been a challenge for many businesses here, but we believe that by creating a vibrant social hub, we can help #MakeTheCairnsPierGreatAgain.

Our plans for 2025 include expanding our offerings, collaborating with local artists and businesses, and bringing even more energy to this beautiful space.
